About Me

My photo
God is love. What can we compare His Amazing love with? There is nothing as such even in my wildest dream. I never thought in my lifetime that I would receive Jesus as my Lord. His word says that He was knocking at the door of my heart to come in since a long time. I was lost in this world doing things, which were of no good to any one. In all my Life I never felt such a Hope, Joy & Peace, till I accepted Lord Jesus as my personal savior.

When or How Does a Song Arises?

-->

A song arises when we truly experience something new and something amazing!

Ex: The first poetry in the Bible, Adam's song for eve,

Genesis 2:18 Then the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him. So out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. 21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.
23 Then the man said,
This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.

Adam knew not anything as closer to eve, In fact even about God, May be he was still in the proses on knowing God.

Here what we need to understand is, It came out of knowledge (The song came out), not just knowledge but by experiential knowledge,

Exodus 14:31 Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, so the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in his servant Moses.
Exodus 15:1 Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord, saying,

           “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
           the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
           The Lord is my strength and my song,
           and he has become my salvation;
           this is my God, and I will praise him,
           my father's God, and I will exalt him.
           The Lord is a man of war;
           the Lord is his name.

Exodus 15:19 For when the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought back the waters of the sea upon them, but the people of Israel walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea. Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing.
21 And Miriam sang to them:
           “Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
         the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea”.

Numbers 21:16 16 And from there they continued to Beer; that is the well of which the Lord said to Moses, Gather the people together, so that I may give them water. 17 Then Israel sang this song:
           “Spring up, O well!—Sing to it!”

A song by the command of the Lord”

Deuteronomy 31:18 And I will surely hide my face in that day because of all the evil that they have done, because they have turned to other gods.
19 Now therefore write this song and teach it to the people of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the people of Israel. 20 For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant. 21 And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as a witness (for it will live unforgotten in the mouths of their offspring). For I know what they are inclined to do even today, before I have brought them into the land that I swore to give. 22 So Moses wrote this song the same day and taught it to the people of Israel.

A Song of Rejoicing When the Lord is enthroned In the Highest Place”

I Chronicles 13:6 And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, that is to Kiriath-jearim that belongs to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord who sits enthroned above the cherubim. 7 And they carried the ark of God on a new cart, from the house of Abinadab, and  Uzzah and Ahio were driving the cart. 8 And David and all Israel were rejoicing before God with all their might, with song and lyres and harps and tambourines and cymbals and trumpets.

Songs of thanks giving”

Psalms 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.

Song as a cry or Prayer to God”

Psalms 42:8 By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.

Psalms 69:29 I am afflicted and in pain; let your salvation, O God, set me on high!
30 I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.
31 This will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.

A song for the Wonders of the Lord”

Psalms 96:1 !
2 Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!
4 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
Psalms 98:1 Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. 3 He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. 4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

“A Song Arises out of Love”

All the modern worship songs which came out of an experience and the revaluation of God and His Love for us, His sacrifice of His son Jesus,
And the Passion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
And His compassion on His children that is so evident through out the Old & New testament.

Finally brothers and sisters let us turn to one scripture which is the key verse for all those who call themselves
                         “Evangelist through songs or Music Evangelist”

Psalms 40:3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Here we see that:
When we praise Him, They will see, fear and put their trust in the Lord.

But if we only understand the intensity of the first two verses,
Then we will understand what a kind of song is it speaking of:

Psalms 40:1-2 I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

We need to really check our self:

  • With what songs are we drawing in to the presence of the Most High God?
  • Do we mean what we sing?
  • Are do we sing because the Lord or because of the melody of the Song?
  • As Isaiah 5:12 saysthey have everything but they don't Regard the deeds of the Lord!

        For if we judge ourselves truly, we would not be judged.

This is My Prayer that the Lord will open our Heart to this truth and Make us true from inside out,
                                              “ALL Glory To GOD alone” Amen.

A True Song

First lets look at the basics of a song!
What is a Song?..............

“Song”
Generally Song has three elements in it:
1.Words(Poetry)
2.Notes(Musical tunes)
3.Expression(Feeling / Rhythm)
Song its self is incomplete if any of the above miss in it.
In a Spiritual song there is one more thing that adds to the list:
4) Heart. ( Heart of a person singing / making music)

Now lets look      “How do we sing a song” ?
Generally we can observe two different ways of singing a Song:
1.The way the Professional singers singing,
2.The way the Children of God singing,(Believers)
In this we can learn, “The way we should” / “The way we should not ”.

“The way we should not”

Professional singers
  • They sing for commercial gain and for a name for themselves.
  • They can easily adopt any song,
  • Mostly they don't mean what they sing,
  • some time with a social cause but doesn't matter, even that is for a self glory
  •  It doesn't matter even if they don't mean what they sing as long as they do their job well.
“The way we should”

Children of God
Sacrifice/ God's Glory:- We are made to worship and bring a sacrifice of thanks giving
on to God. For “Who He is” ,“What He has done” and for “What He is going to do”.

“Who God is”
“Creator”
Psalms 33:6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;he puts the deeps in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
He is our “Creator”.

“What He has done”
“Redeemed us”
Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
He “Loved” and “Redeemed” us.

“What He is going to do”

I Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you; will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Why am i saying all this? Cause “Our song should be a reciprocation rather then an initiation”.

“Our Worship / Praise to God should be a  reciprocation rather then an initiation”.

Psalms 9:1 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
Psalms 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield.
My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped.
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices.
With my song I will thank him..

Singing for His Glory and lift His Name on High.

Psalms 57:9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to You (O Lord) among the nations.
10 For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
( Psalms 33:1 Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.
2 Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.
5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,and by the breath of his mouth all their host.)

We should Sing to God with all our Heart, with all our mind and with all our strength.

As i mentioned before “Heart” is the one more element which adds to the list,
Rather it should be first in the list, cause Heart is the most important thing in a spiritual song,

Amos 5:23 Take away from me the noise of your songs;
to the melody of your harps I will not listen.

Without your true heart, even if you make or sing the best melodious, or even excellent music,
it is nothing, but a noise before God,
He first needs your heart, God needs only your heart.

Woe to those...
Amos 6:5 who sing idle songs to the sound of the harp
and like David invent for themselves instruments of music,
Isaiah 5:12 They have lyre and harp,
tambourine and flute and wine at their feasts,
but they do not regard the deeds of the Lord,
or see the work of his hands.

Can't God make for Himself Good music ? His angels! they rock!
No one can compete with them,
But the thing is if you really want to express your heart, your gratitude, your thanks giving to God our Lord,
A song helps you to express your self wholly, with your Heart, with your word, with your music and with your expression.

Finally my dear ones let us examine our self, for the scriptures says

I Corinthians 11:31 For if we judge ourselves truly, we would not be judged.
Your yourself looked at the word of our Lord,

“If God does not accept a worship or a praise song we sing with out our true heart, He just Calls it a noise, which He does not want to Listen.

Will He accept that which is made out of Lustful desires and for Self gain / self fame ?.........
I live that question to you,
And i Pray that the Lord our God Jesus will lead you in His way.
May the Lord bless this Word, and “ALL Glory To GOD alone” Amen.
